The cardiac silhouette appears within normal limits with a VHS of 7.2. There is a normal vascular pattern, and a mild, diffuse bronchial pattern. This pattern is most easily seen in the area of the lateral cardiac silhouette apex.
Radiographic Interpretation: Normal cardiac silhouette with typical aging pulmonary changes.

Clinical History

Blackie is a 13yo domestic shorthair presented for apparent hind limb pain. The patient was ambulatory, had good femoral pulses bilaterally, and normal nail and footpad color.  Radiographs were obtained to evaluate for cardiac enlargement that may be a risk factor for arterial thromboembolism.
